January 20: Our New Hartford Mite A Team traveled to Clinton, NY today, we are so proud of their performance and sportsmanship towards the game. The team played well, and continues to shine every time they hit the ice. The A Mites would like to thank all of the parents, friends and other family members that were in the arena to cheer them on today!
Squirt Travel
January 18-21: New Hartford Squirt Travel took home the Championship Trophy in The Empire State Cup, contested in Rochester, NY, this past weekend. The Squirt bracket was comprised of teams from Batavia, Ottawa, Ontario and Portland, MN. The Spartans were unbeaten in five games on the way to taking home the title. In the Championship game, the Spartans were down 3-0 after the first period, before storming back for a 6-4 victory. Great job coaches and players!
Peewee Travel
January 5-6, 12-13, & 19-21: In the first three weekends of 2013 the Peewee Travel team has compiled a record of 7-0-1. Wins came over Ithaca (6-5), Onondaga (5-0), Lysander (8-1), Skaneateles (8-1), Monroe County (8-1), Warwick Junior Hockey (5-0), and the Michigan Warriors (2-1). The tie came to Onondaga is the opening game of the Niagara Blizzard Challenge where the Peewee Travel Spartans went on to become TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS! Great job players and coaches. The Spartans go into the final weekend of January with tough games agains the Syracuse Blazers and Camilus. Best of luck to the Peewee Travel Spartans.
December 22-23 & 29-30: The Peewee Travel finished up 2012 with games on both holiday weekends. On the 22nd-23rd weekend, the Spartans took on the Center State Stampede and the CP Dynamo 01 AAA. The Spartans shut out both teams beating the Stampede 12-0 and the Dynamo 7-0. The final weekend of 2012 brought the Adirondack Phantoms and the Onondaga Thunder to the Rec Center. On the 29th the Phantoms came to the Rec Center for a double-header. In the first game the Phantoms come out on top with a score of 13-0. In the afternoon game the Peewee Spartans regrouped and skated to a 1-1 tie with the Phantoms. On Sunday the 30th, the Spartans skated to a 3-3 tie with Onondaga.
December 14-16: The Peewee Travel team participated in the 2012 Northeast Regional Silver Sticks Tournament in Rome, New York. The Spartans finished 1-2 on the weekend beating the Oswego Buccaneers 5-1 in their Friday match-up. On Saturday, the Peewee Travel took on the Buffalo Regals 00 AA team and the Jefferson Jaguars. The Spartans lost a hard fought game to the Regals 2-0 and lost the night-cap game to the Jaguars (eventual Silver Sticks Champions) by a score 8-3. This week, the Peewee Travel hope to get back on track against the Center State Stampede on Saturday and the CP Dynamo 01 AAA on Sunday. Both games are at the Rec Center.
December 8 & 9: The Peewee Travel team took on the Lysander Lightening, CP Dynamo 00 AAA, and Syracuse Blazers 00 this weekend. On Saturday morning, in the first of two games at the Rec Center, the Spartans made quick work of the Lightening beating them 10-1. In the matinee match-up, the Peewee Travel Spartans took on the CP Dynamo 00 AAA. The Spartans came away with a 3-2 victory while outshooting the Dynamo 45-10. On Sunday, the Peewee Travel Spartans traveled to Syracuse to take on the 2000 Blazers. The Spartans beat the Blazers 4-2 and stand alone at the top of the Central Section East. This coming weekend the Peewee Travel Spartans will head into the Northeast Regional Qualifier of the International Silver Sticks. Preliminary games will be against Oswego Buccaneers, Jefferson Jaguars and Buffalo Regals. Best of luck Peewee Travel!!
December 1 &2: The Peewee Travel team kicked off December playing the Bethlehem Eagles at the Rec Center on Saturday and traveling to Binghamton to play the Jr. Senators on Sunday. The Eagles edged the Peewee Spartans by a score of 2-1 in a fast paced game. On Sunday, the Peewee Spartans traveled to Binghamton to play the Jr. Senators at the Chenango Ice Rink as the Spartans looked to rebound from the previous day’s loss. The Peewee Spartans did just that! In a game that the score didn’t indicate the game, the Spartans out skated the Jr. Senators beating them 2-1. The Peewee Spartans move to 14-4-1 on the season and prepare for their upcoming three game weekend taking on Lysander and Clifton Park 00 AAA on Saturday the 8th and the Syracuse Blazers 00 AA on the 9th.
November 24 & 25: The Peewee Travel Team hit the road this weekend playing cross town rival Clinton on Saturday the 24th and Oswego on the 25th. Both games this weekend counted as Qualifying Games in the Central Section. On Saturday, the Spartans beat Clinton for the 3rd time this season, this time by a score of 6-5. On Saturday the Peewee Travel team made the trip north to Oswego in the snow to blank the Bucs by a score of 4-0 in a dominate performance. After this weekend the Peewee Travel has improved their record to 13-3-1.
